Motion Matching and the Big Urbex Murder Overhaul

Big changes have been cooking for Urbex Murder. Three big pieces: a new movement system, a redesigned parkour system, and a Subway level that is basically a new map now.

The demo had been out for about six months. Player feedback shaped a lot of what went into this update — the parkour improvements, the ping system, and the Subway expansion all came from watching how people played the demo.

Motion Matching

We switched the character to Motion Matching. Transitions between running, stopping, and turning are seamless. The character feels grounded in a way that blend trees cannot pull off.

This was not a small swap. Motion Matching needs a good animation database, and building that took time. But the result is worth it.

Redesigned Parkour and Interaction

We rebuilt the parkour system from scratch. Climbing, vaulting, mantling, and hurdling all work smoothly now. If it looks like you should be able to climb over it, you probably can.

We added pushable objects for puzzles and navigation. We polished the interaction system too. Opening doors and picking up items feel more consistent now.

New Tools for Teamwork

Glow sticks: throw them into dark corners to light up an area or mark a path.

Ping system: mark items, doors, or threats without voice chat.

New Subway Level

We completely reimagined the Subway Level. New routes, new sections, new secrets. So many changes that it is effectively a new location to explore.
